"Backstage Tour" at the Sofia Opera and Ballet provides a unique opportunity for our guests to peek behind the scenes of one of the most remarkable cultural institutions in Bulgaria and immerse themselves in the magic of opera and ballet art. The tour begins with a welcoming of visitors in the Central Lobby of the Sofia Opera.
A fascinating story follows about the history of the building and its importance for the cultural life of the capital, as well as the rich history and successes of the Sofia Opera. Then, guests are introduced to the Grand Auditorium - balconies, boxes and ground floor space.
Visitors attend a demonstration of applying stage makeup, see costumes and props from iconic productions up close, accompanied by explanations from specialists from various art studios at the Opera.
Guests have the opportunity to meet in person and take a souvenir photo with artists from the soloist cast and ballet troupe of the Sofia Opera. In a number of cases, a special exhibition of costumes from iconic productions in the repertoire of the Sofia Opera is also prepared, as well as props that always attract the attention of the audience.
During the tour, guests will be able to go on stage, where stage equipment and lighting will be demonstrated and they will be introduced to the work of the technical teams, which remains hidden from the audience in the hall. The visit to the ballet halls provides the opportunity to follow rehearsals of the ballet troupe and to view ballet costumes.
The event ends in the VIP hall of the Sofia Opera, where guests are "Welcome!" with a glass of wine.
