Bulgaria is preparing for the visit of Pope Francis, which will be held from 5 to 7 May.
Pope Francis will be two days in Bulgaria and two nights before going to the next step of his visit to northern Macedonia.
He will arrive at Sofia Airport at 10:00 on Sunday and later he will then meet with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. There is a visit to the Presidency where a formal ceremony will take place. He will meet President Rumen Radev. Then follows a very important meeting with Patriarch Neofit and the members of the Holy Synod.
At 13:00 the pope will give a prayer on the square in front of St. Alexander Nevsky cathedral. The most mass event for which over 7600 people have signed up to come from all over Bulgaria.
Sunday liturgy The Pope will serve at Alexander Batenberg Square at 16:45.
The culmination of the visit of Bulgarian land will be the last event - "Meeting for Peace", during which all representatives of the denominations in Bulgaria will make their message of peace on earth together with Pope Francis.
In city of Rakovski, the Holy Father will spend almost one day. He will serve a liturgy for the first communion in the church "The Most Holy Heart of Jesus" in General Nikolaevo, where 250 children will receive the first communion.
The Pope will pass through the streets of Rakovski and many will have the opportunity to see Pope Francis.
